Plaster finish onto bounding

by B wilkinson
(Northumberland )

I used multi finish plaster straight onto bounding and more or less as soon as the finish went onto the bounding it started to go off (dry straight away ) I never put any pva onto the bounding is this were I failed also the finish was in date

Answer

Yes, this was the problem - Bonding Coat plaster can dry out very quickly and provide very high suction (depending upon the surface it has been applied to).
Either damp down with lots of water - until the water begins to run down the surface or you can seal it with a coat or two of PVA as required. Details for suction control here
