Plaster types ???

Are DIY Plasters the same as those used by the Trade as i've found some "Universal Products" off-the-shelf don't "trowel-up" very well ?

No often the DIY plasters are tricky to use. The only ones you need to worry about unless you're into specialist plastering is:
for backing coat - sand/cement or sand/lime, 'Hardwall' or 'Bonding Coat'
for skimming you really can't beat Thistle Multi-Finish.
Available virtually everywhere.
