Hello,
I want to skim my bedroom as removing wall paper has left the walls in a mess. should i fit corner beads around the window recess and if so, would it be the smaller beads used for plaster board as i will only be applying 3-4mm skim in two coats? Thanks Jason
Answer
Hi Jason,
Yes you can stick the plasterboard beads to the external corners - also called skim beads or thin coat beads.
However your total thickness of both coats will be likely to be around 2mm. When you stick the skim beads up - either with grip fill or plaster - do ensure they are pushed in as tight to the corner as possible so that you do not have to apply too much of a thickness of plaster.
Hope it goes well,
Paul
