Plastering over cables and copper pipes some have been capped and some chased in to the wall ,what should I do to prep these areas out first thanks

Answer
If capped then that is absolutely fine - just make sure they're fairly well fixed back with no movement to avoid cracks. The main reason for the capping over cables is to offer protection from a sharp plastering trowel that could nick them. Copper pipes however are a little different - no plaster should be allowed to come into contact with the pipes so they must be totally covered and protected. This covering should also allow for small movements within. There is a special covering for this purpose that plumbers merchants should be able to advise you on.
