Setting too quickly

I use good quality plaster and also check the date on the bag but every time I do some plastering it goes off within 10 minutes or so the consistency is ok cos it does not slide off when. I put trowel to hawk please could you help me

If you use a new, in date bag of 'Thistle Multi-Finish' and mix with clean tap water - details at https://www.diyplastering.co.uk/plasteringfinish.html
then you will have a lot longer than 10 minutes.

Make sure you pva the wall 5 - 1 mix wait for it to go tacky and skim. If not the wall will suck all the water out of the plaster.
